Integrity loss of glycosylated hemoglobin with deepening anemia

چکیده

Introduction: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) has been shown to cause a false increase in glycosylated hemoglobin (HBA1c), but how much (Hgb) causes certain decrease HBA1c remains unknown. Knowledge of this ratio will enable more accurate clinical diagnosis and follow-up diabetes. This study aimed investigate whether IDA if it does, causes.
Material Method: One hundred twenty-two patients with made up the group sixty-two health volunteers formed control group. 270 mg ferrous sulphate (=80 elemental iron) were administered each day, orally for 3 months, age/sex matched healthy participants monitored. Hgb, serum iron, iron binding capacity (SIBC), ferritin HbA1c levels all measured compared at baseline third month study.
Results: There was significant SIBC months (p

Glycosylated hemoglobin A2 components.

Partially purified hemoglobin A2 has been examined for the existence of glycosylated components by isoelectric focusing and by acid agar gel electrophoresis. Bands analogous to the glycohemoglobin derivatives of hemoglobin A, hemoglobin-A1.a.b.c, were readily detected. Evidence that these minor bands are in fact glycohemoglobins was obtained by showing that 14C-glucose bound to hemoglobin A2 mo...

Glycosylated Hemoglobin in Perspective

With each new tool the insurance industry obtains to evaluate both states of health and states of disease, the temptation exists to use it in as many contexts as possible. The initial understanding in the mid-1960’s that diabetic individuals have different percentages of specific hemoglobins has led to the study and refinement of the hemoglobin Alc (HbAlc), which is being used increasingly by c...

Predictive factors of glycosylated hemoglobin using additive regression model

Introduction: Diabetes is a chronic disease, non-epidemic disease that costs a lot of money in each year. One of the diagnostic criteria for diabetes is Glycosylated Hemoglobin (HBA1C), which in this study the effective factors on it examined by additive regression model. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 130 patients with diabetes type-2 were selected based on simple random...

Low proportions of glycosylated hemoglobin associated with hemoglobin S and hemoglobin C.

Using a cation-exchange chromatographic method, we found normal or subnormal values for glycosylated hemoglobin in a few diabetic patients with persistent hyperglycemia. Subsequent investigations revealed that these unexpected results had originated from black patients with diabetes. In view of common occurrence of abnormal hemoglobins in the Negro population, we subjected blood preparations to...
